Old Glory Restored

Old Glory Restored

Methinks I hear some say today
That reasons good there are for aye
To bring back the Crown from far away
Our Sovereign’s Grace, new homage pay

Tis True that voices this wish do give
A pleasant seeming sound,
Yea, but reason why they choose to live
Again ‘neath English Crown?

No, not for dislike of other men
Or to spite democracy
Nor fear of the fickle mob
Wishing for tyranny

A wish for Albion’s Ruler right
To once again reign free
Across the Thirteen Colonies
And to the farthest Sea?

Our Monarch returned would be
A bastion of health and strength
A Keeper of tranquility
‘Gainst partisan pride and hate

I love the Crown because it’s old
And tried and true and good
I see the wisdom of it’s form
As guiding stably would

Long years have passed since these shores
Were blessed with guidance’s trove
Of stable, and tried laws of worth
Which brought our liberties forth

So Loyal we can return
Again from whence we’ve come
And rise renewed with enlivened hope
Monarch, subject, bound each by oath

One to lead in health returning
To our continent adored
One as following in the glory
Of the stable Crown restored
